@mcc because "simple" is not an objective measure, it's a diff against the experiences expectations and intuitions of a human mind, of many human minds, which are minefields of complexity. the most aggressively simple programming language is known, it's SUBLEQ, but it's completely unusable by humans.

@mcc I like Rich Hickey's simple vs easy distinction, where simple *is* an objective measure of the total number of interconnected parts in the system, and easy is a subjective measure of a person's experience using the system that is often inflected by their personal experiences etc
