@Em0nM4stodonEm @nrdufourNicolas Dufour The thing is, I'm not sure that this is actually true for the politicians themselves. I mean, it's hard to be sure, of course, but I think a lot of them know they're straight up piling on BS when they declare democratic socialism to be communism or etc.

Actually, I think what they're afraid of is the end of their own careers. They pretty much rely on utilizing fear and ignorance to remain in power, but democratic socialism would eliminate a lot of those factors.
