You’re right, @dame.is - Bluesky can design what works for their app. But verification plays a foundational role in trust and safety, just like labeling does. That makes the design choices here matter beyond one app.

Eh, I can appreciate that, but I don't think bi-directional verification makes sense or is necessary in the context Bluesky is using it. It's also not an atproto wide thing, it's just a system they designed to use with Bluesky (though anyone could also use it of course).
