@glyph good article, and you're right about biomedical research. There *are* machine learning advances in biomedicine: things like protein variant effect prediction[*], but these aren't just "pour all of biorxiv into an LLM and shake well"
they're specific investigations which use the data gathered in biological models and clinical records to build and validate a predictive model. So, you know, actual science.
