My primary concern relates to broad technology adoption. Despite having made a lot of progress on further fleshing out a range of linked data standards, there are still huge challenges to overcome for the LD ecosystem to see their technologies have widespread uptake.

Linked data has its niche areas and audiences where it sees more popular use, but for average devs to "bridge the gap" and go all-in on LD (as all standards are intertwined) poses a giant leap to take.

Would you say that's just an issue of understanding it? LD's links to RDF seem not dissimilar to ActivityPub's links to RSS. And it sounds like SoLiD is JSON-LD friendly (forum.solidproject.org/t/using).

Could the issue be SoLiD wrapped a bunch of technologies as a product & they need unbundling? WebID on its own sounds v promising (solid.github.io/webid-profile/); as does WAC (solidproject.org/TR/wac), tho obvs ObCap is very appealing (tho further from W3C standard).

Using Solid with JSON-LD

For web developers that are not (yet) accustomed to Linked Data it is much easier to build apps that can handle JSON trees.
