Unwittingly attended the 200th at Hafan Pwllheli this morning. Mild and sunny, and the sand was a bit firmer than usual.

Met another runner also wearing Vibram FiveFingers. I forgot to ask her whether the first thing people also ask her about them is, "Are they comfortable?"

Somehow, in spite of having to take a 30 second walk break at 4.5km, I was faster than last time I was here. Then I came fourth... out of fifteen. No such luck today: twentieth.
The start and finish of the course. A blue sign with yellow letters saying "parkrun Hafan Pwllheli" sits on packed yellow sand with scattered bits of seaweed. Behind and to the right, runners and marshals assemble. The shore is beyond. The sea is calm with the bright slightly cloudy sky reflecting off it.The turn around point. A solitary orange cone in the sand with a runner approaching. The sea is to the left and, though calm, the waves are occasionally crashing onto the beach which stretches off behind to the horizon, where an almost invisible silver grey dot marks the origin and our final objective. The sky is light blue with clouds that can't decide whether they're fluffy or wispy. The finish. A pair of rows of orange cones in the sand with marshals either side. The bay curves out behind them to the horizon with dunes to the left and sea to the right. Two runners, a marshal, a small dog and a stray cone are to our right.
