I think "programming in elementary/middle/high school" misses the mark by teaching from the perspective of "these kids will be future programmers who are employed in the tech industry" and not "this is a valuable life skill".

I think powershell & bash scripting as well as use of a command line would be very good for any person touching a computer to be able to fudge together.
