Before this particular set of algorithms reached the maturity and capabilities it now has, the same type of people exploited simple algorithms to classify and sell people's behavior as if they were product.
But societies left and right not only did not recoil in disgust at the inhumanity but rewarded them with billions.
We have never atoned for this fundamental betrayal of humanistic principles.
