昨年のGoogleに対する反トラスト法裁判で公開された内部メモのおかげで、彼らが何をしたかが明らかになった。彼らは検索をわざと劣化させたのだ。システムの精度を下げることで、答えにたどり着くには二度以上検索する必要が生じ、結果として検索クエリの数が倍増し、表示される広告の数も倍増した。
