I hate how often the definition of "arguing in good faith" is "you are showing the appropriate level of deference to my position of power and not getting angry about how I'm hurting you."

It's extra rich because it almost comes from the kind of people who invent a stance that is nonsensical and demand you argue with that and not anything they actually believe about the world.

Good faith arguments require you to actually have some kind of skin in the discussion.
