Waning moon.

I finally bought a tripod strong enough to hold up my big zoom lens (a 150mm-600mm Sigma) so that I don't have to shoot my moon photos by hand anymore. (Also, surprise! All the previous big moon photos you've seen from me were shot with a hand-held camera!)

I have a pretty steady hand, but this is easily the most detail of the moon I've caught yet.

Sept. 9, 2025. Wolverine Lake, Michigan.

Photo of a large nearly full moon, slightly waning in the upper right quadrant.
