As a fan of running Mac Mini's as servers there's one thing I've never been able to get working. Doing any kind of passthrough for thunderbolt devices. It'd either not work, or appear to hang the machine.

I'd normally play with it, not get anywhere and give up. Until yesterday, turns out Apple has the tbolt devices on the same IOMMU group as the NIC. Doing a passthrough causes the NIC to become unusable to the host OS.

That's problematic …
