Many people holding extreme political views haven't thought 10m ahead about what consequences on a societal level it would have.

The most poignant current example of this is seeing the "abolish copyright" crowd do a u-turn because of the rampant AI grift. And the most frustrating thing is: That could have been avoidable. With just a little bit of nuance, there is a coherent political stance in this, which I even share. But "reform copyright" doesn't sound as catchy I guess …
