@bottled_o_takitakii <- pretty bitch arc you know, I’m in touch with this afrofuturist painter, Paul Lewin and I see so much connection between our work that I collaged my pottery into a couple of his paintings. My pots exist seamlessly in the worlds he creates. The best afrofuturist art always includes hints of our pre-colonial selves which pottery can be an extension of. A futuristic portrait of a dark skinned person with an afro hairstyle. The person wears a high-tech collar and their head is inside a transparent bubble filled with mushrooms, lotus and moss, possibly to generate oxygen for them to breath. The blurred landscape in the background is an abstraction of land that seems barren and is mountainous. I have collaged a piece of my pottery into the painting but you can barely tell because it looks like it belongs there. It’s a round, decorated pot sitting in the center bottom, nested in the person’s neck gear.
