@vossisbossMeagen Voss I find I learn a lot by writing. It forces me to think through what I really mean. Building the text structures my thoughts. Editing pulls together disparate pieces that I discover have something in common. Writing isn't just about transferring thoughts from your brain to the world. It's a process that helps form those thoughts.

@vossisbossMeagen Voss YES!
I think that's maybe what bugs me about trying to bypass the process altogether.
There is genuine value in learning how to communicate effectively and clearly. Reading through your own drafts, identifying holes in logic or continuity, and sometimes mulling over a specific word that needs tweaking for a specific context--this is an empathetic endeavor (whether conscious or subconscious) toward your reader. It is communal!
And many times, that process uncovers some things you may have overlooked or taken for granted in the past. (This happens every time I try to find how many "just" or "simply" I put in my technical writeups.)
It is unfortunate that this process lacks value for those who would otherwise offload a large part of it to the LLMs.
