AI isn't replacing new software engineers—it's hurting them.

New engineers use AI to skip the "boring" parts early in their career, but that's where you learn to think about problems.

It's like using a calculator for math homework. You get the answer but miss the learning.

Turn off Copilot sometimes. Struggle with the uncomfortable parts. Learning happens at the edge of comfort.
