The 10x engineer is occasionally real. There are just some engineers better at avoiding 10x time traps.

Lots of engineers go off and do stuff that takes a lot of time that doesn't matter:
- Implementing a software catalog for your 3 services
- Starting an internal RFC process for your 5 person team
- Having a 1-hour standing "architectural" meeting
- Creating "future-proof" abstractions with no immediate use case

The "10x" engineers avoid pitfalls that make others 10x less productive.
