Inbox zero is the only way to live.
I've been doing it since 2010. Three times per day, I triage into 4 buckets:
- read and archive
- reply immediately
- wait until tomorrow
- wait until next week
My schedule:
- Morning: 15-30min before meetings
- Lunch: 5 min
- End of day: 5 min
Methods evolved over time:
- 2010-2014: Outlook folders
- 2014-2018: Gmail labels
- 2018-now: Gmail snooze
This works for Slack too using the Remind feature.
