US Embassy officials discovered
Sunday that their website had been defaced with two cryptic lines: "rooted by floppynuts and captain penOr" and "inS is less than pubic lice." The embassy asked the contractor to shut down the website and fix the problem.
"We don't know who hacked it but I can confirm it was hacked," US Embassy spokesman Bill Palmer said, acknowledging that precautions taken to avoid Y2K-related problems had failed to deter the hackers.
