I suspect the fact that story has repeated for almost every attempt at alternate "accessible" programming interfaces in the last 60 or so years or is telling us something. Yes there are people who swear by LabVIEW and there are other niche successes, but something about the nature of the problem gravitates to plain text source code, and it's not just inertia or gatekeeping
