The public start of FediCon 2025 was on Friday August 1st. But, some of us got together the day before — on Thursday July 31st.

It was @evanEvan Prodromou 's idea — to have a speaker's dinner the night before.

That night also ended up being a surprise birthday party for @deadsuperheroSean Tilley 🙂 (It was his birthday anniversary.)

I arrived late at the (pre-FediCon) dinner because I went and picked-up a cake for @deadsuperheroSean Tilley surprise birthday party.

(FediCon was happening in my old neighborhood — I used to live 2 blocks away from Robson Square. I knew where to get a cake from.)

Luckily, @deadsuperheroSean Tilley hadn't arrived yet, and was later than I was (so he didn't see the cake, and the surprise wasn't spoiled).
