I arrived late at the (pre-FediCon) dinner because I went and picked-up a cake for @deadsuperheroSean Tilley surprise birthday party.

(FediCon was happening in my old neighborhood — I used to live 2 blocks away from Robson Square. I knew where to get a cake from.)

Luckily, @deadsuperheroSean Tilley hadn't arrived yet, and was later than I was (so he didn't see the cake, and the surprise wasn't spoiled).

After I hid the cake, I sat at one of the tables that were reserved for us at the restaurant.

I sat across the table from @dansup

Except I didn't recognize that it @dansup 🙂

The thing is — @dansup was wearing a hat. And, I'm used to his classic Fediverse photos without a hat. (With the window's peak hair style.)

I eventually realized it was @dansup 🙂
