If I had the money, I'd match every VC investment in #bluesky with one to #mastodon. Make it a fair fight.

And I'd probably also pay some people to clone bluesky but run it on #ActivityPub and call it Twitter since he says that's not the name anymore.

I still think we could have claimed the word "Tweet" as our own.

It might have made the Fediverse look more like the place to go for those looking to leave X and looking for a "new Twitter".

Attached: 1 image Here are the results of this poll — https://mastodon.social/@reiver/111178826398251610 I asked the question: “Since Twitter (now called 𝕩) purged the words "tweet" and "retweet" from their platform —” “Should we (in the Fediverse) claim these words for our ourselves, and start using them over here?” About 89% voted "no". About 11% voted "yes". (I'm removing the "just show results" votes, which aren't real votes.) So most don't want to use "tweet" and "retweet" on the Fediverse. But a significant minority does.
