The main issue would be that whatever tool they use, the content they see would need to remain "kid-friendly" and honestly I'm not too sure how this can be done on the fediverse. I could be wrong, but I'm afraid that it is, in essence, an adult place. What do you think?
I think you could use Fediverse technology (ActiviyPub, ActivityStream, NodeInfo, WebFinger, etc) to create a Fediverse for kids —
But, the user-experience would be very different than the Fediverse apps we have now.
