In December I notified my IG followers I would be leaving that social network and that if they wanted to follow me, they could do so on my blog, phone, e-mail, or mastodon. I left links on my profile, etc. I deleted the app on Jan 1st and never checked it again.

Today to my surprise I received a notification that I had a new follower request from some relative, and to my surprise when I went there to decline I had *a lot* of unread messages from people who completely ignored...
