(public) Survey: Research Software Engineering & Generative AI
The following questions are designed to inform discussion at the March 2026 workshop, Research Software Engineering in the Age of Generative AI: Building a Community Vision.
As we prepare for this workshop, we’re inviting input from the broader community to help shape the themes and priorities that will be discussed.
Please consider a future five years from now, where Generative AI has continued to advance and research software remains essential to science.
Please complete the survey by 1 March.
All of the survey questions are optional, so feel free to skip any of them.
Providing your name and email is optional. If you choose to share them, this information will be visible only to the organisers. All responses shared in the workshop or included in reports will be anonymised.
If you have any questions, please contact info[at]researchsoft.org.
ReSA has been supported to undertake this work as part of Schmidt Sciences grant G-25-69965, Research Software Engineering in the Age of Generative AI: Building a Community Vision. The Software Sustainability Institute, led by the University of Edinburgh, is supporting the workshop as local organiser.
