I'll be at #EO2026 this week, talking about some of my experiences as a freelance open-source programmer and the hidden costs to me and my family that we don't talk about much when we discuss funding for open source.

I'm still putting the talk together, and I'm not quite sure yet what it will be. I know what point I want to make, I think, but it's all quite personal and messy (ie human) and turning that into a single cohesive story is tricky!
