根據《新唐人電視台》披露，中國異議作家、旅澳法學家袁紅冰爆料，中共內部知情人士指出，大約在一星期前，中共對台工作領導小組，對一個文件作出批示，當中提到，台灣立法院親共立委，最終可能會有15席左右的立委會遭到罷免，他直言「現在看起來這個趨勢，是很難阻止」。袁紅冰也提到，大罷免行動湧現出一股新的力量，這和以往的政治能量有很大的不同，有人甚至將其稱為「反共2.0時代」。
