Really interesting thread!

I had a revelation one time, when watching a 3D movie in the cinema (probably the first Avatar), and slowly developing a headache:

I think we're so used to 2D movies and photos, where a director chooses what is in focus, what is not, and uses the focus as a tool to draw attention to important things in the scene.

But here I was watching a movie that was tricking my brain into thinking it was in 3D space, yet I could not direct my own focus as I can in real life.
