@smolwaffle @Em0nM4stodonEm :official_verified: but they wouldn't be in business without profit which means if people stopped buying from Amazon or Walmart then there wouldn't be a corporation to fine. Don't know why consequences need to come from regulations. Local businesses would strive if Walmart didn't exist. Yet people complain and still buy Teslas, shop at Walmart, buy from Amazon. They reduce their prices and people flock back forgetting their principles. So maybe you are right it needs to come from government but government is corrupt AF. Personally choose to support local businesses because I don't see government ever helping.

@x41h @smolwaffle @Em0nM4stodonEm :official_verified: I've had many a curtailed conversation asking people why they buy from companies they know are awful. From my findings I can report that cheap, convenient, or better yet both, are the criteria for turning a blind eye to literally anything whilst still complaining about the consequences.

I think there's an element of thinking "one more won't hurt". Then you realise that if everyone who thought that stopped it wouldn't be one, it would be one very large number.
