much of the world has anti-circumvention laws as a result of free trade agreements with the US. sometimes those laws were accepted by other countries to avoid tariffs on their other exports. now the US is cranking up tariffs left right and centre, and often the response is retaliatory tariffs, but why not repeal those laws instead?

over and over, we are learning that letting others control our computing and machines leads to disaster, but we also have so much to gain by taking that ownership back.
