공학은 오직 성공적인 동작과 굳건한 내구로써 증명되어야만 한다. 아무리 위태로워 보이는 구조물도 공학적 설계에 따라서는 세월과 지진을 능히 버틸 수 있다. 아무리 단단한 건물처럼 보여도 일단 무너지고 나면 설계시의 의도 따위 아무 소용도 없다. 정치공학도 마찬가지. 그것이 작동하는 현실과 유리되어 입에 오르는 순간 그 공학은 이미 망했다.
