박 과장은 테슬라 FSD 도입 과정에 대한 아쉬움을 드러냈다. 그는 “테슬라 FSD는 명칭과 달리 운전자 감독을 전제로 하고 있으며 자유무역협정(FTA)에 따라 우리나라에서 별도의 검증이나 확인 절차 없이 수용된 점은 국민 안전 측면에서 아쉬운 부분이 있다”며 “미국 도로교통국의 결함 조사 상황과 국내 FSD 운행 현황 등을 지속적으로 모니터링할 계획”이라고 말했다.
