Interesting: all vibe coded stuff is public domain? How long until Anthropic/OpenAI et al get the law to say the code is owned by the LLM? Companies are people in law already after all. Presumably then for the vibe coder to claim copyright they'd have to get the LLM to sign a copyright assignment, like an employee / contributor would. If so I bet the vendors would sell that to you as an add-on, OR just license that code back to you instead so you never own it

Being a renter of things is a power dynamic that is massively skewed in favour of the landlord. Why would renting the ability to write software be any different? Giving up your ability to create, and renting it back from a company that absolutely doesn't care about you and will absolutely screw you over in a heartbeat if it suits them is a death sentence for independence
