I decided my backup CDs from 2002 may be nearing EOL and pulled the data off them, only to realize that back then I thought postscript files were future-proof. Turns out ps support was removed from MacOS in Sonoma https://eclecticlight.co/2023/09/25/postscripts-sudden-death-in-sonoma/ So now I'm working through how to convert to PDF either on MacOS https://eclecticlight.co/2023/09/27/how-to-convert-postscript-and-eps-files-in-sonoma-in-a-vm-apple-silicon/ or maybe I'll just spin up a raspi just to get this done.

For the last 39 years, PostScript has been at the heart of the Mac, bringing desktop publishing, fonts, and the LaserWriter and other printers. It has been removed from Sonoma.
