Specifically, it's the recursion error you get when the definition for an option satisfies its own constraint. You wouln't be able to tell from looking a this though, because nix tells you that an infinite recursion was encountered, but all the stacktraces point to nixpkgs/lib/modules.nix.

Tom Scott's dialogue flows into the middle stacktrace item, stating:

"I AM CURRENTLY at /nix/store/0aavdx9m5ms1cj5pb1dx0brbrbigy8ij-source/lib/modules.nix:322:9:"

Beneath this, nix says "error: infinite recursion encountered"

Tom Scott then says, "AND I'VE CAUSED THIS INFINITE RECURSION ERROR"
