Redox OS performance is steadily improving. Here is 1080p video being played on a 1440p display. Most of the CPU usage is software video decoding, with the orbital windowing system adding minimal overhead. A careful look through the CPU times can verify this. The video plays well with no audio skips even with a transparent terminal on top of it. Software rendering is still the largest limitation of the Redox OS desktop, although it has been highly optimized.
