Security experts: there was a PayPal breach, we recommend you change your password, just in case
Me: generates a 6 words passphrase.
PayPal: it's too long, it must be less than 20 characters.

Why? Is there a security reason justifying I can't have a 40 characters passphrase?

I understand, that, for users, it's complicated to remember. But, if you are a user like me, using a password manager tool (as we all should), it's not going to be an issue. s a rant for another day).

Screenshot of the Paypal password change form. My new password is very long, and there is an error message saying: your password should be 8-20 characters long.
