Reasonably confident that I observed a squirrel exhibit theory of mind yesterday?

One of the neighborhood squirrels was sitting on our front step eating a pumpkin leftover from the fall. I went outside and moved it to the top of our stone wall so that [s]he would make less of a mess.

Once it was on top of the wall, other squirrels felt more comfortable coming to eat it, since it was further from our door. So suddenly [s]he had competition for it. After a few minutes, [s]he pushed the pumpkin down off the wall. None of the other squirrels were willing to jump down onto our patio to eat it, so [s]he once again had the pumpkin to [her|him]self.
