내가 궁금한 것은 영어로 번역된 <1938 타이완 여행기>를 읽은 사람들이 이것을 백합이라는 독립된 장르에 속한 것으로 인식할 것이냐는 점. (기사 본문에 나온 바 GL과 백합을 구별할 문화적 맥락이 있는지도 궁금하다.)
영어에서 제일 닮은 개념이 "sapphic"일 텐데, 근년 이것은 하나의 장르로 성립하는 게 아니라 모든 장르에서 핵심 키워드 중 하나가 되어 있다. 책을 광고할 때에도 넣을 수 있으면 꼭 넣는 단어일 정도로.
