I see posts under the "search" from other Mastodon networks too. Are those by people currently in the Forkiverse, or are they recommended? I'm still trying to wrap my head around the Fediverse.

If you have a fediverse account, you can quote this note from your own instance. Search https://indieweb.social/users/tchambers/statuses/115891997311463045 on your instance and quote it. (Note that quoting is not supported in Mastodon.)
