my dog's UTI hasn't cleared up after the first round of antibiotics... so i have to go get some special new medicines... and they're going to culture bacteria from her to find what antibiotics will work.

the arms race with bacteria has gotten out of hand. that's some science fiction shit -- growing a culture of bacteria to prescribe targeted antibiotics? wild.
