🤷♂️ ok but a lot of subs are just rent seeking - why collect money outside of those major redesigns if you’re not working on it?

I’ve been thinking about this in terms of ongoing cost vs ongoing value.
If an app doesn’t have ongoing cost then why should it be paid for every month?
vs
If an app provides me ongoing value then why shouldn’t I keep paying for it?
The old Sketch model where you pay for a year of upgrades and get to keep what you have when you stop paying still feels like the best compromise.
