One really interesting way to broaden your musical exposure is to buy someone's lifetime collection of CDs. You get a deeply personal, curated lens through which to experience the world from a completely different perspective.

An algorithm would probably never recommend some of this stuff to me, and I'd probably skip over it. I'd definitely be missing out.
