There is currently a temporary error with my supporter payments (support.thisismissem.social) where US customers are being charged German VAT, this shouldn't be happening, but according to Stripe there is currently a bug causing that.

So US folks, if you subscription to support me updates in the next few days and is more than you expected, I'm sorry, but it's a bug on Stripe's side, once they resolve it, you'll be back to paying the normal amount.

That extra amount they are charging you does not go into my pocket, but rather is declared as VAT collected, so is paid to the tax office (even though your VAT rate should be 0% because you're outside the EU/UK)

For EU & UK supporters, VAT is now going to be charged, and I've made it exclusive, so it does cost a little bit more on payments, but it's really the only way I can make this work, see: hachyderm.io/@thisismissem/114
