I have considered starting an OSNews fundraiser to raise some money for our car, but decided against it - I feel like any OSNews fundraiser should be about either OSNews itself (i.e. a cool thing to write about) or as effectively my salary. Asking money for our car that's not even remotely required for OSNews - instead being a generic family requirement (and for my wife's work commute) - feels wrong.
