Let's call the fediverse "democratic social networks" when telling others about it. Sure, decentralization is one of the key points, but democracy is what really matters.

EDIT: some people seem really unhappy with the choice of the word 'democratic'. So maybe "social networks by the people for the people" if you think others might be misled otherwise 🤷‍♀️
