미국 일간 뉴욕타임스(NYT)는 16일(현지시간) 미국과 쿠바 간 대화 내용을 잘 아는 복수의 소식통을 인용해 트럼프 정부가 미겔 디아스카넬 쿠바 대통령의 사퇴를 협상 진전의 조건으로 걸었다고 보도했다.
미국이 디아스카넬 대통령이 집권하는 한 쿠바와는 어떤 합의도 할 수 없다고 압박했다는 것이다.
