I find it annoyingly and charmingly naive when small companies with whom I do a bit of business proceed to act as if they're the center of my world. Most recently, I started a membership in a medical helicopter emergency service that I hope to never use. They proceeded to email each week with stories of helicopter trips, upsells, and generic travel tips.

My dudes, at the absolute most you can email once per quarter and it should be opt-in. I'd totally subscribe to a nice, non-pushy blog, tho.
