I argue that what a lot of people refer to as "modern Simpsons" is often a decade or more out of date, we’re seeing the show start to emerge from the Dark Age that followed the Golden Age, and if you dismiss everything as β€œmodern / post-Golden Age” Simpsons then you’re missing out.

I got asked on Bluesky for a primer on recent Simpsons episodes with examples to check out for people who aren't autistic weirdos obsessed with the show like me.
